28 A lying tongue hates those it hurts,
    and a flattering mouth(A) works ruin.

27 Do not boast(B) about tomorrow,
    for you do not know what a day may bring.(C)

Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth;
    an outsider, and not your own lips.(D)

28 A lying tongue hateth those that are afflicted by it; and a flattering mouth worketh ruin.

27 Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.

Let another man praise thee, and not thine own mouth; a stranger, and not thine own lips.
