²⁴A refusal to correct is a refusal to love;
love your children by disciplining them.

²⁴Whoever spares the rod^(A) hates their children,
but the one who loves their children is careful to discipline^(B) them.^(C)

¹⁸Discipline your children while you still have the chance;
indulging them destroys them.

¹⁸Discipline your children, for in that there is hope;
do not be a willing party to their death.^(A)
