The Way of Wisdom

¹⁸ And I also say to you that ^(A)you are Peter, and ^(B)on this rock I will build My church, and ^(C)the gates of Hades shall not ^[a]prevail against it.

¹² He who overcomes, I will make him ^(A)a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall ^(B)go out no more. ^(C)I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the ^(D)New Jerusalem, which ^(E)comes down out of heaven from My God. ^(F)And I will write on him My new name.

⁵ you also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. ⁶ Therefore it is also contained in the Scripture,

²⁰ having been ^(A)built ^(B)on the foundation of the ^(C)apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being ^(D)the chief cornerstone, ²¹ in whom the whole building, being fitted together, grows into ^(E)a holy temple in the Lord, ^22 (F)in whom you also are being built together for a ^(G)dwelling place of God in the Spirit.

⁹ and when James, ^[a]Cephas, and John, who seemed to be ^(A)pillars, perceived ^(B)the grace that had been given to me, they gave me and Barnabas the right hand of fellowship, ^(C)that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

⁹ For ^(A)we are God’s fellow workers; you are God’s field, you are ^(B)God’s building. ^10 (C)According to the grace of God which was given to me, as a wise master builder I have laid ^(D)the foundation, and another builds on it. But let each one take heed how he builds on it. ¹¹ For no other foundation can anyone lay than ^(E)that which is laid, ^(F)which is Jesus Christ. ¹² Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, ¹³ each one’s work will become clear; for the Day ^(G)will declare it, because ^(H)it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one’s work, of what sort it is. ¹⁴ If anyone’s work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. ¹⁵ If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

² He also built the ^(A)House of the Forest of Lebanon; its length was ^[a]one hundred cubits, its width ^[b]fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits, with four rows of cedar pillars, and cedar beams on the pillars. ³ And it was paneled with cedar above the beams that were on forty-five pillars, fifteen to a row.

³ For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as ^(A)He who built the house has more honor than the house. ⁴ For every house is built by someone, but ^(B)He who built all things is God. ^5 (C)And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as ^(D)a servant, ^(E)for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, ⁶ but Christ as ^(F)a Son over His own house, ^(G)whose house we are ^(H)if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope ^[a]firm to the end.
