⁶ Evildoers are snared by their own sin,^(A)
    but the righteous shout for joy and are glad.

As fish are caught in a cruel net,
    or birds are taken in a snare,
so people are trapped by evil times^(A)
    that fall unexpectedly upon them.^(B)

“I will sing^(B) to the Lord,
    for he is highly exalted.
Both horse and driver^(C)
    he has hurled into the sea.^(D)

¹⁵ Shouts of joy^(A) and victory
    resound in the tents of the righteous:
“The Lord’s right hand^(B) has done mighty things!^(C)

¹¹ Light shines^[a](A) on the righteous^(B)
    and joy on the upright in heart.^(C)

⁶ On the wicked he will rain
    fiery coals and burning sulfur;^(A)
    a scorching wind^(B) will be their lot.

⁷ The vigor^(A) of his step is weakened;^(B)
    his own schemes^(C) throw him down.^(D)
8 His feet thrust him into a net;^(E)
    he wanders into its mesh.
⁹ A trap seizes him by the heel;
    a snare^(F) holds him fast.^(G)
10 A noose^(H) is hidden for him on the ground;
    a trap^(I) lies in his path.^(J)
