¹⁸ Like a maniac who shoots deadly firebrands and arrows,^(A)

¹⁸ Like a war club, a sword, or a sharp arrow
    is one who bears false witness against a neighbor.^(A)

¹¹ But all of you are kindlers of fire,
    lighters of firebrands.^[a]
Walk in the flame of your fire
    and among the brands that you have kindled!
This is what you shall have from my hand:
    you shall lie down in torment.^(A)

²³     until an arrow pierces its entrails.
He is like a bird rushing into a snare,
    not knowing that it will cost him his life.^(A)
