¹⁵ My child, if your heart is wise,
    my heart also will be glad.

²⁴ The father of the righteous will greatly rejoice;
    he who fathers a wise son will be glad in him.^(A)
25 Let your father and mother be glad;
    let her who bore you rejoice.

³ A child who loves wisdom makes a parent glad,
    but a companion of prostitutes destroys wealth.^(A)

¹⁷ The Lord, your God, is in your midst,
    a warrior who gives victory;
he will rejoice over you with gladness;
    he will renew you^[a] in his love;
he will exult over you with loud singing^(A)

4 Listen, children, to a father’s instruction,
    and be attentive, that you may gain^[a] insight,^(A)

2 My child, if you accept my words
    and treasure up my commandments within you,^(A)
