Proverbs 22:7-11

^7 (A)The rich rules over the poor,
    and the borrower is the slave of the lender.
⁸ Whoever ^(B)sows injustice will reap calamity,
    and ^(C)the rod of his fury will fail.
^9 (D)Whoever has a bountiful^[a] eye will be blessed,
    for he ^(E)shares his bread with the poor.
^10 (F)Drive out a scoffer, ^(G)and strife will go out,
    and ^(H)quarreling and abuse will cease.
¹¹ He who ^(I)loves purity of heart,
    and whose ^(J)speech is gracious, ^(K)will have the king as his friend.
