¹⁹ None who go to her return
    or attain the paths of life.^(A)

²⁶ I find more bitter than death
    the woman who is a snare,^(A)
whose heart is a trap
    and whose hands are chains.
The man who pleases God will escape her,
    but the sinner she will ensnare.^(B)

¹² So I gave them over^(A) to their stubborn hearts
    to follow their own devices.

¹⁴ “I will not punish your daughters
    when they turn to prostitution,
nor your daughters-in-law
    when they commit adultery,
because the men themselves consort with harlots^(A)
    and sacrifice with shrine prostitutes^(B)—
    a people without understanding^(C) will come to ruin!^(D)

²³ Can an Ethiopian^[a] change his skin
    or a leopard its spots?
Neither can you do good
    who are accustomed to doing evil.^(A)

¹⁸ The path of the righteous^(A) is like the morning sun,^(B)
    shining ever brighter till the full light of day.^(C)
