19 Now (A)the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, (B)divisions, 21 envy,[a] drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that (C)those who do[b] such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

English Standard Version
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous[a] will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: (A)neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality,[b] 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And (B)such were some of you. But (C)you were washed, (D)you were sanctified, (E)you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Proverbs 7:22-27
English Standard Version
22 All at once he follows her,
as an ox goes to the slaughter,
or as a stag is caught fast[a]
23 till an arrow pierces its liver;
as (A)a bird rushes into a snare;
he does not know that it will cost him his life.
24 And (B)now, O sons, listen to me,
and be attentive to the words of my mouth.
25 Let not your heart turn aside to her ways;
do not stray into her paths,
26 for many a victim has she laid low,
and all her slain are (C)a mighty throng.
27 Her house is (D)the way to Sheol,
going down to the chambers of death.
Footnotes
- Proverbs 7:22 Probable reading (compare Septuagint, Vulgate, Syriac); Hebrew as a chain to discipline a fool
Proverbs 6:26-35
English Standard Version
26 for (A)the price of a prostitute is only (B)a loaf of bread,[a]
but a married woman[b] (C)hunts down a precious life.
27 Can a man carry (D)fire next to his (E)chest
and his clothes not be burned?
28 Or can one (F)walk on hot coals
and his feet not be scorched?
29 So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife;
none who touches her (G)will go unpunished.
30 People do not despise a thief if he steals
to (H)satisfy his appetite when he is hungry,
31 but (I)if he is caught, he will pay (J)sevenfold;
he will give all the goods of his house.
32 He who commits adultery lacks sense;
he who does it destroys himself.
33 He will get wounds and dishonor,
and his disgrace will not be wiped away.
34 For (K)jealousy makes a man furious,
and he will not spare when (L)he takes revenge.
35 He will accept no compensation;
he will refuse though you multiply gifts.

Proverbs 5:4-14
English Standard Version
4 but in the end she is (A)bitter as (B)wormwood,
(C)sharp as (D)a two-edged sword.
5 Her feet (E)go down to death;
her steps follow the path to[a] Sheol;
6 she (F)does not ponder the path of life;
her ways wander, and she does not know it.
7 And (G)now, O sons, listen to me,
and do not depart from the words of my mouth.
8 Keep your way far from her,
and do not go near the door of her house,
9 lest you give your honor to others
and your years to the merciless,
10 lest strangers take their fill of your strength,
and your (H)labors go to the house of a foreigner,
11 and at the end of your life you (I)groan,
when your flesh and body are consumed,
12 and you say, (J)“How I hated discipline,
and my heart (K)despised reproof!
13 I did not listen to the voice of my teachers
or incline my ear to my instructors.
14 (L)I am at the brink of utter ruin
in the assembled congregation.”
