²⁸ “Right!” Jesus told him. “Do this and you will live!”

²⁸ Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”

³ Loving God means keeping his commandments, and his commandments are not burdensome.

²² And we will receive from him whatever we ask because we obey him and do the things that please him.

¹⁴ Blessed are those who wash their robes. They will be permitted to enter through the gates of the city and eat the fruit from the tree of life.

¹⁹ For it makes no difference whether or not a man has been circumcised. The important thing is to keep God’s commandments.

¹⁰ When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. ¹¹ I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! ¹² This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you. ¹³ There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. ¹⁴ You are my friends if you do what I command.
