²⁷ A scoundrel^(A) plots evil,
    and on their lips it is like a scorching fire.^(B)

¹⁸ Woe^(A) to those who draw sin along with cords^(B) of deceit,
    and wickedness^(C) as with cart ropes,

¹⁴     who plots evil^(A) with deceit in his heart—
    he always stirs up conflict.^(B)

¹² A troublemaker and a villain,
    who goes about with a corrupt mouth,

¹⁴ By your hand save me from such people, Lord,
    from those of this world^(A) whose reward is in this life.^(B)
May what you have stored up for the wicked fill their bellies;
    may their children gorge themselves on it,
    and may there be leftovers^(C) for their little ones.

¹⁵ As for me, I will be vindicated and will see your face;
    when I awake,^(D) I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.^(E)
