² From the fruit of their lips people enjoy good things,^(A)
    but the unfaithful have an appetite for violence.

¹⁴ From the fruit of their lips people are filled with good things,^(A)
    and the work of their hands brings them reward.^(B)

²⁰ From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled;
    with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied.^(A)

¹¹ The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life,^(A)
    but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.^(B)

³¹ they will eat the fruit of their ways
    and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.^(A)

¹¹ May slanderers not be established in the land;
    may disaster hunt down the violent.^(A)

¹⁷ They eat the bread of wickedness
    and drink the wine of violence.^(A)

¹¹ If they say, “Come along with us;
    let’s lie in wait^(A) for innocent blood,
    let’s ambush some harmless soul;
¹² let’s swallow^(B) them alive, like the grave,
    and whole, like those who go down to the pit;^(C)
13 we will get all sorts of valuable things
    and fill our houses with plunder;

⁶ for they have shed the blood of your holy people and your prophets,^(A)
    and you have given them blood to drink^(B) as they deserve.”
