²⁷ Whoever seeks good finds favor,

16 The trouble they cause recoils on them;
    their violence comes down on their own heads.

¹¹ Evildoers foster rebellion against God;
    the messenger of death will be sent against them.

⁶ They spread a net for my feet^(A)—
    I was bowed down^(B) in distress.
They dug a pit^(C) in my path—
    but they have fallen into it themselves.^(D)

¹⁵ The nations have fallen into the pit they have dug;^(A)
    their feet are caught in the net they have hidden.^(B)
16 The Lord is known by his acts of justice;
    the wicked are ensnared by the work of their hands.^[a](C)

² In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak,^(A)
    who are caught in the schemes he devises.
