⁴² but one thing is necessary.^[a] Mary has chosen ^(A)the good portion, which will not be taken away from her.”

¹⁴ One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, ^(A)who was a worshiper of God. The Lord ^(B)opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul. ¹⁵ And after she was baptized, ^(C)and her household as well, she urged us, saying, “If you have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come to my house and stay.” And she ^(D)prevailed upon us.

³⁹ So Peter rose and went with them. And when he arrived, they took him to ^(A)the upper room. All the widows stood beside him weeping and showing tunics^[a] and other garments that Dorcas made while she was with them.

³² And David said to Abigail, ^(A)“Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, who sent you this day to meet me! ³³ Blessed be your discretion, and blessed be you, ^(B)who have kept me this day from bloodguilt ^(C)and from working salvation with my own hand!

² that you ^(A)may welcome her in the Lord in a way worthy of the saints, and help her in whatever she may need from you, for she has been a patron of many and of myself as well.

³ Greet ^(B)Prisca and Aquila, my fellow workers in Christ Jesus, ⁴ who risked their necks for my life, to whom not only I give thanks but all the churches of the Gentiles give thanks as well.

²¹ When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are safe; ^22 (A)but when one stronger than he attacks him and ^(B)overcomes him, he takes away his ^(C)armor in which he trusted and ^(D)divides his spoil.
