²⁷ The fear of the Lord adds length to life,^(A)
    but the years of the wicked are cut short.^(B)

¹¹ For through wisdom^[a] your days will be many,
    and years will be added to your life.^(A)

¹⁶ With long life^(A) I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.^(B)”

³² Before his time^(A) he will wither,^(B)
    and his branches will not flourish.^(C)
33 He will be like a vine stripped of its unripe grapes,^(D)
    like an olive tree shedding its blossoms.^(E)

¹⁷ Do not be overwicked,
    and do not be a fool—
    why die before your time?^(A)

¹¹ Come, my children, listen^(A) to me;
    I will teach you^(B) the fear of the Lord.^(C)
12 Whoever of you loves life^(D)
    and desires to see many good days,
¹³ keep your tongue^(E) from evil
    and your lips from telling lies.^(F)

⁴ He asked you for life, and you gave it to him—
    length of days, for ever and ever.^(A)

¹⁶ Long life is in her right hand;^(A)
    in her left hand are riches and honor.^(B)
