10 The proverbs of ^(A)Solomon:

^9 (A)Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him ^(B)rest from all his enemies all around. His name shall be ^[a]Solomon, for I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.

^12 (A)Then Solomon sat on the throne of his father David; and his kingdom was ^(B)firmly established.

The Vanity of Life

^5 (A)And of all my sons (for the Lord has given me many sons) ^(B)He has chosen my son Solomon to sit on the throne of the kingdom of the Lord over Israel.

³¹ For he was ^(A)wiser than all men—^(B)than Ethan the Ezrahite, ^(C)and Heman, Chalcol, and Darda, the sons of Mahol; and his fame was in all the surrounding nations. ^32 (D)He spoke three thousand proverbs, and his ^(E)songs were one thousand and five.

²⁸ So he ^(A)died in a good old age, ^(B)full of days and riches and honor; and Solomon his son reigned in his place.
