28 When He made firm the skies above,
When the springs of the deep became [a]fixed,
29 When (A)He set a boundary for the sea
So that the water would not violate His [b]command,
When He marked out (B)the foundations of the earth;
30 Then (C)I was beside Him, as a master workman;
And I was His delight daily,
[c]Rejoicing always before Him,
31 [d]Rejoicing in the world, His earth,
And having (D)my delight in the sons of mankind.
32 “Now then, sons, (E)listen to me,
For (F)blessed are those who keep my ways.
33 (G)Listen to instruction and be wise,
And do not neglect it.
34 (H)Blessed is the person who listens to me,
Watching daily at my gates,
Waiting at my doorposts.
35 For (I)one who finds me finds life,
And (J)obtains favor from the Lord.
36 But one who [e]sins against me (K)injures himself;
All those who (L)hate me (M)love death.”

and fixed securely the fountains of the deep,(B)
29 when he gave the sea its boundary(C)
so the waters would not overstep his command,(D)
and when he marked out the foundations of the earth.(E)
30 Then I was constantly[a] at his side.(F)
I was filled with delight day after day,
rejoicing always in his presence,
31 rejoicing in his whole world
and delighting in mankind.(G)
32 “Now then, my children, listen(H) to me;
blessed are(I) those who keep my ways.(J)
33 Listen to my instruction and be wise;
do not disregard it.
34 Blessed are those who listen(K) to me,
watching daily at my doors,
waiting at my doorway.
35 For those who find me(L) find life(M)
and receive favor from the Lord.(N)
36 But those who fail to find me harm themselves;(O)
all who hate me love death.”(P)
