²⁴The partner of a thief ^(A)hates his own life;
^(B)he hears the curse, but discloses nothing.

New International Version

²⁴The accomplices of thieves are their own enemies;
they are put under oath and dare not testify.^(A)

¹⁸If you see a thief, ^(A)you are pleased with him,
^(B)and you keep company with adulterers.

¹⁸When you see a thief, you join^(A) with him;
you throw in your lot with adulterers.^(B)
