Proverbs 28:22-28

New American Standard Bible

²² A person with an ^(A)evil eye ^(B)hurries after wealth
And does not know that poverty will come upon him.
²³ One who ^(C)rebukes a person will afterward find more favor
Than one who ^(D)flatters with the tongue.
²⁴ He who ^(E)robs his father or his mother
And says, “There is no wrong done,”
Is the ^(F)companion of a person who destroys.
²⁵ An ^[a]arrogant person ^(G)stirs up strife,
But one who ^(H)trusts in the Lord ^(I)will ^[b]prosper.
²⁶ One who ^(J)trusts in his own heart is a fool,
But one who walks wisely will flee to safety.
²⁷ One who ^(K)gives to the poor will never lack anything,
But one who ^[c]shuts his eyes will have many curses.
²⁸ When the wicked rise, people hide themselves;
But when they perish, the righteous increase.
