³¹ The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
    but victory rests with the Lord.^(A)

⁷ Some trust in chariots^(A) and some in horses,^(B)
    but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.^(C)

¹⁷ A horse^(A) is a vain hope for deliverance;
    despite all its great strength it cannot save.
¹⁸ But the eyes^(B) of the Lord are on those who fear him,
    on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,^(C)

¹⁰ His pleasure is not in the strength^(A) of the horse,^(B)
    nor his delight in the legs of the warrior;
