^31 (A)The horse is made ready for the day of battle,
    but ^(B)the victory belongs to the Lord.

31 Woe^[a] to ^(A)those who go down to Egypt for help
    and rely on horses,
who ^(B)trust in chariots because they are many
    and in horsemen because they are very strong,
but ^(C)do not look to the Holy One of Israel
    or consult the Lord!

⁷ Some trust in ^(A)chariots and some in ^(B)horses,
    ^(C)but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

¹⁰ His delight is not in ^(A)the strength of the horse,
    nor his pleasure in the legs of a man,

^17 (A)The war horse is a false hope for salvation,
    and by its great might it cannot rescue.
