¹⁴ The mind of one who has understanding seeks knowledge,
    but the mouths of fools feed on folly.

⁹ Give instruction^[a] to the wise, and they will become wiser still;
    teach the righteous, and they will gain in learning.^(A)

¹⁰ who say to the seers, “Do not see,”
    and to the prophets, “Do not prophesy to us what is right;
speak to us smooth things;
    prophesy illusions;^(A)

¹⁵ An intelligent mind acquires knowledge,
    and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge.
