²² Do not those who plot evil go astray?^(A)
    But those who plan what is good find^[a] love and faithfulness.

² Good people obtain favor from the Lord,^(A)
    but he condemns those who devise wicked schemes.^(B)

⁷ Blessed are the merciful,
    for they will be shown mercy.^(A)

⁷ Scoundrels use wicked methods,^(A)
    they make up evil schemes^(B)
to destroy the poor with lies,
    even when the plea of the needy^(C) is just.^(D)
8 But the noble make noble plans,
    and by noble deeds^(E) they stand.^(F)

²² What a person desires is unfailing love^[a];
    better to be poor than a liar.

¹⁷ A quick-tempered person^(A) does foolish things,^(B)
    and the one who devises evil schemes is hated.^(C)

²⁹ Do not plot harm against your neighbor,
    who lives trustfully near you.^(A)

⁷ May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;^(A)
    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.^(B)
