⁷ Your love has given me great joy and encouragement,^(A) because you, brother, have refreshed^(B) the hearts of the Lord’s people.

¹³ By all this we are encouraged.

In addition to our own encouragement, we were especially delighted to see how happy Titus^(A) was, because his spirit has been refreshed by all of you.

⁹ How can we thank God enough for you^(A) in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?^(B)

⁴ I have spoken to you with great frankness; I take great pride in you.^(A) I am greatly encouraged;^(B) in all our troubles my joy knows no bounds.^(C)

³ It gave me great joy when some believers^(A) came and testified about your faithfulness to the truth, telling how you continue to walk in it.^{(B) 4} I have no greater joy than to hear that my children^(C) are walking in the truth.^(D)

⁵ Dear friend, you are faithful in what you are doing for the brothers and sisters,^[a](E) even though they are strangers to you.^{(F) 6} They have told the church about your love. Please send them on their way^(G) in a manner that honors^(H) God.

²⁰ I do wish, brother, that I may have some benefit from you in the Lord; refresh^(A) my heart in Christ.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, our joy, or the crown^(A) in which we will glory^(B) in the presence of our Lord Jesus when he comes?^(C) Is it not you?

⁴ It has given me great joy to find some of your children walking in the truth,^(A) just as the Father commanded us.

¹⁶ May the Lord show mercy to the household of Onesiphorus,^(A) because he often refreshed me and was not ashamed^(B) of my chains.^(C)
