⁷ For I have derived much joy and ^(A)comfort from your love, my brother, because the hearts of the saints ^(B)have been refreshed through you.

¹³ Therefore ^(A)we are comforted.

And besides our own comfort, we rejoiced still more at the joy of Titus, because his spirit ^(B)has been refreshed by you all.

⁹ For ^(A)what thanksgiving can we return to God for you, for all the joy that we feel for your sake before our God,

⁴ I am acting with ^(A)great boldness toward you; ^(B)I have great pride in you; ^(C)I am filled with comfort. In all our affliction, I am overflowing with joy.

³ For ^(A)I rejoiced greatly when the brothers^[a] came and testified to your truth, as indeed you are walking in the truth. ⁴ I have no greater joy than to hear that ^(B)my children are walking in the truth.

Support and Opposition

⁵ Beloved, it is a faithful thing you do in all your efforts for ^(C)these brothers, ^(D)strangers as they are, ⁶ who testified to your love before the church. You will do well to send them on their journey in a manner ^(E)worthy of God.

²⁰ Yes, brother, I want some benefit from you in the Lord. ^(A)Refresh my heart in Christ.

¹⁹ For what is our hope or ^(A)joy or crown of boasting ^(B)before our Lord Jesus at his ^(C)coming? Is it not you?

Walking in Truth and Love

^4 (A)I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father.

¹⁶ May the Lord grant mercy to ^(A)the household of Onesiphorus, for he often ^(B)refreshed me and was not ashamed of ^(C)my chains,
