15 And you Philippians(A) know that in the early days of the gospel,(B) when I left Macedonia,(C) no church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving except you alone. 16 For even in Thessalonica(D) you sent gifts for my need(E) several times.

I robbed other churches by taking pay from them to minister to you. When I was present with you and in need, I did not burden anyone, since the brothers who came from Macedonia(A) supplied my needs.(B) I have kept myself, and will keep myself, from burdening you in any way.

I “robbed” other churches by accepting their contributions so I could serve you at no cost. And when I was with you and didn’t have enough to live on, I did not become a financial burden to anyone. For the brothers who came from Macedonia brought me all that I needed. I have never been a burden to you, and I never will be.
