10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length (A)you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be (B)content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and (C)hunger, abundance and (D)need. 13 I can do all things (E)through him who strengthens me.

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last you have renewed your concern for me[a], for whom also you were thinking, but you had no opportunity to express it. 11 Not that I speak from need, for I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. 12 I know how both to make do with little[b] and I know how to have an abundance[c]. In everything and in all things I have learned the secret both to be filled and to be hungry, both to have an abundance[d] and to go without. 13 I am able to do all things by the one who strengthens me.
