Philippian Generosity

10 But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last (A)your[a] care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. 11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, (B)to be content: 12 (C)I know how to [b]be abased, and I know how to [c]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. 13 I can do all things (D)through [d]Christ who strengthens me.

14 Nevertheless you have done well that (E)you shared in my distress. 15 Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, (F)no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. 16 For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. 17 Not that I seek the gift, but I seek (G)the fruit that abounds to your account. 18 Indeed I [e]have all and abound. I am full, having received from (H)Epaphroditus the things sent from you, (I)a sweet-smelling aroma, (J)an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. 19 And my God (K)shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

So Abram said to Lot, (A)“Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. (B)Is not the whole land before you? Please (C)separate from me. (D)If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.”

10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all (E)the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord (F)destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) (G)like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward (H)Zoar. 11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. 12 Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot (I)dwelt in the cities of the plain and (J)pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. 13 But the men of Sodom (K)were exceedingly wicked and (L)sinful against the Lord.

14 And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot (M)had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—(N)northward, southward, eastward, and westward; 15 for all the land which you see (O)I give to you and (P)your [a]descendants forever. 16 And (Q)I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. 17 Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”

18 (R)Then Abram moved his tent, and went and (S)dwelt by [b]the terebinth trees of Mamre, (T)which are in Hebron, and built an (U)altar there to the Lord.
