Philippian Generosity

¹⁰ But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last ^(A)your^[a] care for me has flourished again; though you surely did care, but you lacked opportunity. ¹¹ Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, ^(B)to be content: ^12 (C)I know how to ^[b]be abased, and I know how to ^[c]abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. ¹³ I can do all things ^(D)through ^[d]Christ who strengthens me.

¹⁴ Nevertheless you have done well that ^(E)you shared in my distress. ¹⁵ Now you Philippians know also that in the beginning of the gospel, when I departed from Macedonia, ^(F)no church shared with me concerning giving and receiving but you only. ¹⁶ For even in Thessalonica you sent aid once and again for my necessities. ¹⁷ Not that I seek the gift, but I seek ^(G)the fruit that abounds to your account. ¹⁸ Indeed I ^[e]have all and abound. I am full, having received from ^(H)Epaphroditus the things sent from you, ^(I)a sweet-smelling aroma, ^(J)an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing to God. ¹⁹ And my God ^(K)shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

⁸ So Abram said to Lot, ^(A)“Please let there be no strife between you and me, and between my herdsmen and your herdsmen; for we are brethren. ^9 (B)Is not the whole land before you? Please ^(C)separate from me. ^(D)If you take the left, then I will go to the right; or, if you go to the right, then I will go to the left.”

¹⁰ And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all ^(E)the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the Lord ^(F)destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) ^(G)like the garden of the Lord, like the land of Egypt as you go toward ^(H)Zoar. ¹¹ Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other. ¹² Abram dwelt in the land of Canaan, and Lot ^(I)dwelt in the cities of the plain and ^(J)pitched his tent even as far as Sodom. ¹³ But the men of Sodom ^(K)were exceedingly wicked and ^(L)sinful against the Lord.

¹⁴ And the Lord said to Abram, after Lot ^(M)had separated from him: “Lift your eyes now and look from the place where you are—^(N)northward, southward, eastward, and westward; ¹⁵ for all the land which you see ^(O)I give to you and ^(P)your ^[a]descendants forever. ¹⁶ And ^(Q)I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered. ¹⁷ Arise, walk in the land through its length and its width, for I give it to you.”

^18 (R)Then Abram moved his tent, and went and ^(S)dwelt by ^[b]the terebinth trees of Mamre, ^(T)which are in Hebron, and built an ^(U)altar there to the Lord.
