God’s Provisions

¹⁰ But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly, that now at last ^(A)you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked an opportunity to act. ¹¹ Not that I speak ^[a]from need, for I have learned to be ^[b](B)content in whatever circumstances I am. ¹² I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going ^(C)hungry, both of having abundance and ^(D)suffering need. ¹³ I can do all things ^[c]through Him who ^(E)strengthens me.

²⁴ Five times I received from the Jews ^(A)thirty-nine lashes. ²⁵ Three times I was ^(B)beaten with rods, once I was ^(C)stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. ²⁶ I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my ^(D)countrymen, dangers from the ^(E)Gentiles, dangers in the ^(F)city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among ^(G)false brothers; ²⁷ I have been in ^(H)labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in ^(I)hunger and thirst, often ^(J)without food, in cold and ^[a](K)exposure. ²⁸ Apart from such ^[b]external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for ^(L)all the churches.
