Philippians 2:5-11

⁵Adopt the attitude that was in Christ Jesus:

⁶Though he was in the form of God,
        he did not consider being equal with God something to exploit.
⁷But he emptied himself
        by taking the form of a slave
        and by becoming like human beings.
When he found himself in the form of a human,
⁸        he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
        even death on a cross.
⁹Therefore, God highly honored him
        and gave him a name above all names,
¹⁰    so that at the name of Jesus everyone
        in heaven, on earth, and under the earth might bow
¹¹        and every tongue confess
            that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Romans 10:5-13

⁵Moses writes about the righteousness that comes from the Law: The person who does these things will live by them.^[a] ⁶But the righteousness that comes from faith talks like this: Don’t say in your heart, “Who will go up into heaven?”^[b] (that is, to bring Christ down) ⁷or “Who will go down into the region below?”^[c] (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). ⁸But what does it say? The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart^[d] (that is, the message of faith that we preach). ⁹Because if you confess with your mouth “Jesus is Lord” and in your heart you have faith that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. ¹⁰Trusting with the heart leads to righteousness, and confessing with the mouth leads to salvation. ¹¹The scripture says, All who have faith in him won’t be put to shame.^[e] ¹²There is no distinction between Jew and Greek, because the same Lord is Lord of all, who gives richly to all who call on him. ¹³All who call on the Lord’s name will be saved.^[f]
