Greeting

1 Paul^(A) and Timothy,^(B) servants of Christ Jesus:

To all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi,^(C) including the overseers^(D) and deacons.^(E)

² Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹⁴ Do everything without grumbling^(A) and arguing,^{(B) 15} so that you may be blameless^(C) and pure,^(D) children of God who are faultless^(E) in a crooked^(F) and perverted^(G) generation,^(H) among whom you shine like stars in the world, ¹⁶ by holding firm to the word^(I) of life. Then I can boast^(J) in the day of Christ^(K) that I didn’t run or labor for nothing. ¹⁷ But even if I am poured out^(L) as a drink offering^(M) on the sacrificial service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice with all of you. ¹⁸ In the same way you should also be glad and rejoice with me.

¹⁷ Join in imitating me, brothers and sisters, and pay careful attention to those who live according to the example you have in us. ¹⁸ For I have often told you, and now say again with tears, that many live as enemies of the cross^(A) of Christ. ¹⁹ Their end is destruction; their god is their stomach; their glory^(B) is in their shame; and they are focused on earthly things. ²⁰ Our citizenship is in heaven, and we eagerly wait for a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ. ²¹ He will transform the body of our humble condition into the likeness of his glorious^(C) body,^(D) by the power that enables him to subject everything to himself.

4 So then, my dearly loved and longed for brothers and sisters, my joy and crown,^(E) in this manner stand firm^(F) in the Lord, dear friends.

⁸ Finally^[a] brothers and sisters, whatever is true,^(A) whatever is honorable,^(B) whatever is just,^(C) whatever is pure,^(D) whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence^(E) and if there is anything praiseworthy—dwell on these things. ⁹ Do what you have learned and received^(F) and heard from me, and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.
