26 (A)The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the Lord,
but (B)gracious words are pure.
27 Whoever is (C)greedy for unjust gain (D)troubles his own household,
but he who hates (E)bribes will live.
28 The heart of the righteous (F)ponders how to answer,
but (G)the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.
29 The Lord is (H)far from the wicked,
but he (I)hears the prayer of the righteous.
30 (J)The light of the eyes rejoices the heart,
and (K)good news refreshes[a] the bones.
31 (L)The ear that listens to (M)life-giving reproof
will dwell among the wise.
32 Whoever (N)ignores instruction (O)despises himself,
but he who listens to reproof (P)gains intelligence.
33 (Q)The fear of the Lord is instruction in wisdom,
and (R)humility comes before honor.
