Philemon’s Love and Faith

I thank my God always when I mention you[a] in my prayers, because I hear of your love for all the saints and your faith toward the Lord Jesus.(A) I pray that the partnership of your faith may become effective as you comprehend all the good that we[b] share in Christ.[c] I have[d] indeed received much joy and encouragement from your love, because the hearts of the saints have been refreshed through you, my brother.(B)

Paul’s Thanksgiving and Prayer

I always thank my God when I pray for you, Philemon, because I keep hearing about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people. And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people.
