Exhortation, Encouragement, and Prayer

² I entreat Euodia and I entreat Syntyche to ^(A)agree in the Lord.

^14 (A)Strive for peace with everyone, and for the ^(B)holiness ^(C)without which no one will see the Lord.

Divisions in the Church

¹⁰ I appeal to you, brothers,^[a] by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no ^(A)divisions among you, but that you be united ^(B)in the same mind and the same judgment.

^50 (A)Salt is good, ^(B)but if the salt has lost its saltiness, how will you make it salty again? ^(C)Have salt in yourselves, and ^(D)be at peace with one another.”

Suffering for Righteousness' Sake

⁸ Finally, all of you, ^(A)have unity of mind, sympathy, ^(B)brotherly love, ^(C)a tender heart, and ^(D)a humble mind. ^9 (E)Do not repay evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary, ^(F)bless, for ^(G)to this you were called, that you may obtain a blessing. ¹⁰ For

^2 (A)complete my joy by being ^(B)of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind. ³ Do nothing from ^(C)selfish ambition or ^(D)conceit, but in ^(E)humility count others more significant than yourselves.

Unity in the Body of Christ

4 I therefore, ^(A)a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to ^(B)walk in a manner worthy of ^(C)the calling to which you have been called, ² with all ^(D)humility and ^(E)gentleness, with ^(F)patience, ^(G)bearing with one another in love, ³ eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in ^(H)the bond of peace. ⁴ There is ^(I)one body and ^(J)one Spirit—just as you were called to the one ^(K)hope that belongs to your call— ^5 (L)one Lord, ^(M)one faith, ^(N)one baptism, ^6 (O)one God and Father of all, ^(P)who is over all and through all and in all. ⁷ But ^(Q)grace was given ^(R)to each one of us ^(S)according to the measure of Christ's gift. ⁸ Therefore it says,

¹³ and to esteem them very highly in love because of their work. ^(A)Be at peace among yourselves.

^16 (A)Live in harmony with one another. ^(B)Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly.^{[a] (C)}Never be wise in your own sight. ^17 (D)Repay no one evil for evil, but ^(E)give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all. ¹⁸ If possible, so far as it depends on you, ^(F)live peaceably with all.
