¹¹ Not that I speak ^[a]from need, for I have learned to be ^[b](A)content in whatever circumstances I am. ¹² I know how to get along with little, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going ^(B)hungry, both of having abundance and ^(C)suffering need. ¹³ I can do all things ^[c]through Him who ^(D)strengthens me.

²⁴ Five times I received from the Jews ^(A)thirty-nine lashes. ²⁵ Three times I was ^(B)beaten with rods, once I was ^(C)stoned, three times I was shipwrecked, a night and a day I have spent adrift at sea. ²⁶ I have been on frequent journeys, in dangers from rivers, dangers from robbers, dangers from my ^(D)countrymen, dangers from the ^(E)Gentiles, dangers in the ^(F)city, dangers in the wilderness, dangers at sea, dangers among ^(G)false brothers; ²⁷ I have been in ^(H)labor and hardship, through many sleepless nights, in ^(I)hunger and thirst, often ^(J)without food, in cold and ^[a](K)exposure. ²⁸ Apart from such ^[b]external things, there is the daily pressure on me of concern for ^(L)all the churches. ²⁹ Who is ^(M)weak without my being weak? Who is ^[c]led into sin ^[d]without my intense concern?

³⁰ If I have to boast, I will boast of what pertains to my ^(N)weakness.

⁹ And He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for ^(A)power is perfected in weakness.” Most gladly, therefore, I will rather ^(B)boast ^[a]about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me. ¹⁰ Therefore ^(C)I delight in weaknesses, in ^[b]insults, in ^(D)distresses, in ^(E)persecutions, in ^(F)difficulties, ^(G)in behalf of Christ; for ^(H)when I am weak, then I am strong.
