¹⁶ holding fast the word of life, so that ^(A)I may rejoice in the day of Christ that ^(B)I have not run in vain or labored in ^(C)vain.

²⁶ Therefore I run thus: ^(A)not with uncertainty. Thus I fight: not as one who beats the air.

² And I went up ^[a]by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but ^(A)privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means ^(B)I might run, or had run, in vain.

What Was Heard, Seen, and Touched^(A)

1 That ^(B)which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have ^(C)seen with our eyes, ^(D)which we have looked upon, and ^(E)our hands have handled, concerning the ^(F)Word of life—

¹⁴ (as also you have understood us in part), ^(A)that we are your boast as ^(B)you also are ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.

⁶⁸ But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have ^(A)the words of eternal life.

⁵ For this reason, when I could no longer endure it, I sent to know your faith, ^(A)lest by some means the tempter had tempted you, and ^(B)our labor might be in vain.

^63 (A)It is the Spirit who gives life; the ^(B)flesh profits nothing. The ^(C)words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life.

Confess Christ Before Men^(A)
