¹³ You call me Teacher and Lord, and you are right, for that is what I am.^(A)

¹⁵ God abides in those who confess that Jesus is the Son of God, and they abide in God.^(A)

² By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God,

⁹ For to this end Christ died and lived again, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.^(A)

³ Therefore I want you to understand that no one speaking by the Spirit of God ever says “Let Jesus be cursed!” and no one can say “Jesus is Lord” except by the Holy Spirit.^(A)

⁶ yet for us there is one God, the Father, from whom are all things and for whom we exist, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and through whom we exist.^(A)

¹¹ For it is written,

⁹ because^[a] if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe^[b] in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.^{(A) 10} For one believes^[c] with the heart, leading to righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, leading to salvation. ¹¹ The scripture says, “No one who believes^[d] in him will be put to shame.”^{(B) 12} For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; the same Lord is Lord of all and is generous to all who call on him.^(C)

²² His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews, for the Jews had already agreed that anyone who confessed Jesus^[a] to be the Messiah^[b] would be put out of the synagogue.^(A)
