11 He says to himself, “God will never notice;(A)
    he covers his face and never sees.”(B)

12 Arise,(C) Lord! Lift up your hand,(D) O God.
    Do not forget the helpless.(E)
13 Why does the wicked man revile God?(F)
    Why does he say to himself,
    “He won’t call me to account”?(G)
14 But you, God, see the trouble(H) of the afflicted;
    you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;(I)
    you are the helper(J) of the fatherless.
15 Break the arm of the wicked man;(K)
    call the evildoer to account for his wickedness
    that would not otherwise be found out.

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever;(L)
    the nations(M) will perish from his land.
17 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted;(N)
    you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,(O)
18 defending the fatherless(P) and the oppressed,(Q)
    so that mere earthly mortals
    will never again strike terror.

Jesus the Great High Priest

14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest(A) who has ascended into heaven,[a](B) Jesus the Son of God,(C) let us hold firmly to the faith we profess.(D) 15 For we do not have a high priest(E) who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are(F)—yet he did not sin.(G) 16 Let us then approach(H) God’s throne of grace with confidence,(I) so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
