Lead Me to the Rock

To the choirmaster: with (A)stringed instruments. Of David.

61 Hear my cry, O God,
    (B)listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to you
    when my heart is (C)faint.
Lead me to (D)the rock
    that is higher than I,
for you have been (E)my refuge,
    a strong (F)tower against the enemy.

Let me (G)dwell in your tent forever!
    Let me take refuge under (H)the shelter of your wings! Selah
For you, O God, have heard my vows;
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.

(I)Prolong (J)the life of the king;
    may his years endure to all generations!
May he be enthroned forever before God;
    appoint (K)steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him!

So will I ever sing praises to your name,
    as I (L)perform my vows day after day.

My Soul Waits for God Alone

To the choirmaster: according to (M)Jeduthun. A Psalm of David.

62 For God alone (N)my soul (O)waits in silence;
    from him comes my salvation.
(P)He alone is my rock and my salvation,
    my (Q)fortress; (R)I shall not be greatly shaken.

How long will all of you attack a man
    to batter him,
    like (S)a leaning wall, a tottering fence?
They only plan to thrust him down from his (T)high position.
    They take pleasure in falsehood.
(U)They bless with their mouths,
    but inwardly they curse. Selah

For God alone, O (V)my soul, wait in silence,
    for my hope is from him.
(W)He only is my rock and my salvation,
    my fortress; I shall not be shaken.
On God rests my (X)salvation and my glory;
    my mighty rock, (Y)my refuge is God.

(Z)Trust in him at all times, O people;
    (AA)pour out your heart before him;
    God is (AB)a refuge for us. Selah

(AC)Those of low estate are but a breath;
    those of high estate (AD)are a delusion;
in the balances they go up;
    (AE)they are together lighter than a breath.
10 Put no trust in extortion;
    (AF)set no vain hopes on robbery;
    (AG)if riches increase, set not your heart on them.

11 (AH)Once God has spoken;
    (AI)twice have I heard this:
that (AJ)power belongs to God,
12     and that to you, O Lord, (AK)belongs steadfast love.
For you will (AL)render to a man
    according to his work.

Psalm 61[a]

For the director of music. With stringed instruments. Of David.

Hear my cry, O God;(A)
    listen to my prayer.(B)

From the ends of the earth I call to you,
    I call as my heart grows faint;(C)
    lead me to the rock(D) that is higher than I.
For you have been my refuge,(E)
    a strong tower against the foe.(F)

I long to dwell(G) in your tent forever
    and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b](H)
For you, God, have heard my vows;(I)
    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.(J)

Increase the days of the king’s life,(K)
    his years for many generations.(L)
May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;(M)
    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.(N)

Then I will ever sing in praise of your name(O)
    and fulfill my vows day after day.(P)

Psalm 62[c]

For the director of music. For Jeduthun. A psalm of David.

Truly my soul finds rest(Q) in God;(R)
    my salvation comes from him.
Truly he is my rock(S) and my salvation;(T)
    he is my fortress,(U) I will never be shaken.(V)

How long will you assault me?
    Would all of you throw me down—
    this leaning wall,(W) this tottering fence?
Surely they intend to topple me
    from my lofty place;
    they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
    but in their hearts they curse.[d](X)

Yes, my soul, find rest in God;(Y)
    my hope comes from him.
Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
    he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
My salvation and my honor depend on God[e];
    he is my mighty rock, my refuge.(Z)
Trust in him at all times, you people;(AA)
    pour out your hearts to him,(AB)
    for God is our refuge.

Surely the lowborn(AC) are but a breath,(AD)
    the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance,(AE) they are nothing;
    together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion(AF)
    or put vain hope in stolen goods;(AG)
though your riches increase,
    do not set your heart on them.(AH)

11 One thing God has spoken,
    two things I have heard:
“Power belongs to you, God,(AI)
12     and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;(AJ)
and, “You reward everyone
    according to what they have done.”(AK)

Hide Me from the Wicked

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David.

64 Hear my voice, O God, in my (A)complaint;
    preserve my life from dread of the enemy.
Hide me from (B)the secret plots of the wicked,
    from the throng of evildoers,
who (C)whet their tongues like swords,
    who (D)aim bitter words like arrows,
shooting from (E)ambush at the blameless,
    shooting at him suddenly and (F)without fear.
They (G)hold fast to their evil purpose;
    they talk of (H)laying snares secretly,
thinking, (I)“Who can see them?”
    They search out injustice,
saying, “We have accomplished a diligent search.”
    For (J)the inward mind and heart of a man are deep.

(K)But God shoots his arrow at them;
    they are wounded suddenly.
They are brought to ruin, with their own (L)tongues turned against them;
    all who (M)see them will (N)wag their heads.
Then all mankind (O)fears;
    they (P)tell what God has brought about
    and ponder what he has done.

10 Let (Q)the righteous one rejoice in the Lord
    and (R)take refuge in him!
Let all (S)the upright in heart exult!

O God of Our Salvation

To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. A Song.

65 Praise (T)is due to you,[a] O God, in Zion,
    and to you shall (U)vows be performed.
O you who (V)hear prayer,
    to you (W)shall all flesh come.
When (X)iniquities prevail against me,
    you (Y)atone for our transgressions.
(Z)Blessed is the one you choose and bring near,
    to (AA)dwell in your courts!
We shall be (AB)satisfied with the goodness of your house,
    the holiness of your temple!

By (AC)awesome deeds you answer us with righteousness,
    O God of our salvation,
the hope of all (AD)the ends of the earth
    and of the farthest seas;
the one who by his strength established the mountains,
    being (AE)girded with might;
who (AF)stills the roaring of the seas,
    the roaring of their waves,
    (AG)the tumult of the peoples,
so that those who dwell at the ends of the earth are in awe at your signs.
You make the going out of the morning and the evening to shout for joy.

You visit the earth and (AH)water it;[b]
    you greatly enrich it;
(AI)the river of God is full of water;
    (AJ)you provide their grain,
    for so you have prepared it.
10 You water its furrows abundantly,
    settling its ridges,
softening it with (AK)showers,
    and blessing its growth.
11 You crown the year with your bounty;
    your wagon tracks (AL)overflow with abundance.
12 (AM)The pastures of the wilderness overflow,
    the hills (AN)gird themselves with joy,
13 (AO)the meadows clothe themselves with flocks,
    the valleys deck themselves with grain,
    they (AP)shout and sing together for joy.

How Awesome Are Your Deeds

To the choirmaster. A Song. A Psalm.

66 (AQ)Shout for joy to God, all the earth;
    sing the glory of his name;
    (AR)give to him glorious praise!
Say to God, (AS)“How awesome are your deeds!
    So great is your power that your enemies (AT)come cringing to you.
(AU)All the earth worships you
    and sings praises to you;
    they sing praises to your name.” Selah

(AV)Come and see what God has done:
    (AW)he is awesome in his deeds toward the children of man.
He (AX)turned the sea into dry land;
    they (AY)passed through the river on foot.
There did we rejoice in him,
    who rules by his might forever,
whose (AZ)eyes keep watch on the nations—
    let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah

Bless our God, O peoples;
    let the sound of his praise be heard,
who has kept our soul among the living
    and (BA)has not let our feet slip.
10 For you, O God, have (BB)tested us;
    you have tried us as silver is tried.
11 You brought us into (BC)the net;
    you laid a crushing burden on our backs;
12 you let men (BD)ride over our heads;
    we went through fire and through (BE)water;
yet you have brought us out to a place of abundance.

13 I will come into your house with burnt offerings;
    I will (BF)perform my vows to you,
14 that which my lips uttered
    and my mouth promised (BG)when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer to you burnt offerings of fattened animals,
    with the smoke of the sacrifice of rams;
I will make an offering of bulls and goats. Selah

16 (BH)Come and hear, all you who fear God,
    and I will tell what he has done for my soul.
17 I cried to him with my mouth,
    and high praise was on[c] my tongue.[d]
18 If I had (BI)cherished iniquity in my heart,
    (BJ)the Lord would not have listened.
19 But truly (BK)God has listened;
    he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

20 Blessed be God,
    because he has not rejected my prayer
    or removed his steadfast love from me!

Make Your Face Shine upon Us

To the choirmaster: with (BL)stringed instruments. A Psalm. A Song.

67 May God (BM)be gracious to us and bless us
    and make his face to (BN)shine upon us, Selah
that (BO)your way may be known on earth,
    your (BP)saving power among all nations.
(BQ)Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you!

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you (BR)judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth. Selah
(BS)Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you!

The earth has (BT)yielded its increase;
    God, our God, shall bless us.
God shall bless us;
    let (BU)all the ends of the earth fear him!
