5 1-2 »¡Escúchenme, sacerdotes!
¡Atiéndanme, jefes de Israel!
¡Préstenme atención,
familiares del rey!
Yo los voy a juzgar y a castigar
porque han engañado a mi pueblo.
¡Hicieron a Israel aun más rebelde!
Lo obligaron a adorar a otros dioses
en los santuarios de Mispá y de Tabor.
3 »Israelitas,
yo sé cómo se portan ustedes;
¡se portan como una prostituta,
4 porque adoran a otros dioses!
No me reconocen como su Dios,
ni se arrepienten de su maldad.
5 Ustedes son tan malos y orgullosos
que acabarán por ser destruidos;
¡lo mismo pasará con Judá!
6 »Pero un día me buscarán;
y llevarán como ofrenda
sus vacas y sus ovejas,
pero no podrán encontrarme.
¡Yo los abandonaré!
7 Se han portado como una adúltera:
me engañaron adorando a otros dioses,
y sus descendientes ya no serán mi pueblo.
Por eso, muy pronto,
tanto ustedes como sus campos
serán destruidos.

8 »¡Avísenles a todos en Guibeá,
Ramá y Bet-avén!
¡Den el toque de alerta!
¡Adviertan a los del reino de Judá!
9 Israelitas, yo les aseguro
que cumpliré lo que antes anuncié.
El día que yo los castigue,
¡dejaré su país en ruinas!
10 »Voy a castigar con furia
a los jefes de Judá,
porque son como los ladrones de terrenos:
han invadido el territorio de Israel.
11 El reino de Israel es maltratado
y nadie respeta sus derechos
porque prefirió adorar a dioses falsos.
12 Por eso yo acabaré con ese reino
y con el reino de Judá;
¡los destruiré por completo,
como destruye la polilla a la madera!
13 Y cuando Israel y Judá
se vean en ruinas,
buscarán la ayuda del rey de Asiria;
pero él no podrá ayudarlos.
14-15 »Yo atacaré a Israel y a Judá
con la misma furia de un león.
Los agarraré y los haré pedazos,
y no habrá quien los salve.
Luego los dejaré por un tiempo,
y esperaré a que se arrepientan;
cuando reconozcan que me han ofendido,
se llenarán de angustia y me buscarán.»

5 »Sacerdotes y nación de Israel, escuchen esto.
Familia real, presta atención.
Escuchen, porque este juicio es contra ustedes:
Ustedes fueron una trampa en Mizpa[a]
y una red extendida en el monte Tabor.
2 Ustedes han cometido pecados muy grandes[b]
y yo los castigaré a todos.
3 Yo conozco a Efraín
y sé todo lo que ha hecho Israel.
Efraín, ahora te comportas como una prostituta,
e Israel está impuro.
4 »Ya no pueden volver a su Dios
porque sus prácticas se lo impiden.
Su fuerte impulso a prostituirse
no los deja conocer al SEÑOR.
5 A Efraín se le echará en cara su propio orgullo.
Tanto Israel como Efraín caerán por sus pecados
y también Judá caerá junto con ellos.
6 Con sus ovejas y vacas irán a buscar al SEÑOR,
pero no lo encontrarán.
Él se alejará de ellos.
7 No fueron fieles al SEÑOR,
pues tuvieron hijos,
y tuvieron también relaciones con dioses extraños.
Ahora la langosta devorará sus cultivos.[c]
8 »Hagan sonar el cuerno en Guibeá.
Toquen la trompeta en Ramá.[d]
Griten con fuerza en Bet Avén.
¡Benjamín, el enemigo está detrás de ti!
9 Efraín será destruido
en el día del castigo.
Les advierto a las tribus de Israel
que todo esto sucederá.
10 Los líderes de Judá son como ladrones que roban su tierra a los demás.
Derramaré como agua mi furia sobre ellos.
11 Efraín está aplastado, se viola el derecho.
Será castigado por haber ido tras la suciedad.
12 Yo destruiré a Efraín como una polilla
que carcome la tela.
Destruiré a Judá como el hongo

13 »Efraín vio que estaba enfermo,

Pero él no podrá sanarlos a ustedes

14 Porque yo atacaré a Efraín como lo hace un león.

y nadie podrá rescatarlos.
15 Volveré a mi lugar
hasta que reconozcan su error
y vengan a buscarme.

5 Hear ye this, O kohanim; and pay heed, ye Bais Yisroel; and give ye ear, O Bais HaMelech; for hamishpat (the judgment) is against you, because ye have been a pach (snare, bird trap) at Mitzpah, and a reshet (net) spread upon Tavor.
2 And the revolters have deepened their slaughter, and I will be musar (punishment; see regarding Moshiach, Isa.53:5) of them all.
3 I know Ephrayim, and Yisroel is not hid from Me; for now, O Ephrayim, thou committest whoredom, and Yisroel is tameh (unclean, defiled).
4 Their doings do not permit them to turn unto Eloheihem; for the ruach zenunim is in the midst of them, and they have not known Hashem.
5 And the ga’on Yisroel (pride of Yisroel) doth testify to his face; therefore shall Yisroel and Ephrayim stumble and fall in their avon (iniquity); Yehudah also shall fall with them.
6 They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Hashem; but they shall not find Him; He hath withdrawn Himself from them.
7 They have dealt treacherously against Hashem; for they have begotten banim zarim (strange, illegitimate children); now shall a [Rosh] Chodesh devour them with their fields.
8 Blow ye the shofar in Giveah, and the trumpet in Ramah; cry aloud at Beit-Aven; after thee, O Binyamin!
9 Ephrayim shall be desolate in the Yom Tokheichah (Day of Rebuke): among the Shivtei Yisroel have I made known that which is certain.
10 The sarim (princes) of Yehudah were like them that remove the gevul (boundary stone); therefore I will pour out My wrath upon them like mayim.
11 Ephrayim is oppressed and crushed in mishpat (judgment), because he willingly walked after tzav (human statute [Isa 28:10,13]).
12 Therefore will I be unto Ephrayim like maggots, and to the Bais Yehudah like rottenness.
13 When Ephrayim saw his sickness, and Yehudah saw his sores, then went Ephrayim to the Assyrian, and sent to the great king; yet he was not able to heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
14 For I will be unto Ephrayim like a lion, and as a great lion to the Bais Yehudah; I, even I, will tear and go away; I will carry off, and there will be no one rescuing.
15 I will go and return to My place, till they acknowledge their guilt, and seek My face; in their tzar (affliction, distress) they will beg My favor.

Judgment Against Israel
5 “Hear this, you priests!
Pay attention, you Israelites!
Listen, royal house!
This judgment(A) is against you:
You have been a snare(B) at Mizpah,
a net(C) spread out on Tabor.
2 The rebels are knee-deep in slaughter.(D)
I will discipline all of them.(E)
3 I know all about Ephraim;
Israel is not hidden(F) from me.
Ephraim, you have now turned to prostitution;
Israel is corrupt.(G)
4 “Their deeds do not permit them
to return(H) to their God.
A spirit of prostitution(I) is in their heart;
they do not acknowledge(J) the Lord.
5 Israel’s arrogance testifies(K) against them;
the Israelites, even Ephraim, stumble(L) in their sin;
Judah also stumbles with them.(M)
6 When they go with their flocks and herds
to seek the Lord,(N)
they will not find him;
he has withdrawn(O) himself from them.
7 They are unfaithful(P) to the Lord;
they give birth to illegitimate(Q) children.
When they celebrate their New Moon feasts,(R)
he will devour[a](S) their fields.
8 “Sound the trumpet(T) in Gibeah,(U)
the horn in Ramah.(V)
Raise the battle cry in Beth Aven[b];(W)
lead on, Benjamin.
9 Ephraim will be laid waste(X)
on the day of reckoning.(Y)
Among the tribes of Israel
I proclaim what is certain.(Z)
10 Judah’s leaders are like those
who move boundary stones.(AA)
I will pour out my wrath(AB) on them
like a flood of water.
11 Ephraim is oppressed,
trampled in judgment,
intent on pursuing idols.[c](AC)
12 I am like a moth(AD) to Ephraim,
like rot(AE) to the people of Judah.
13 “When Ephraim(AF) saw his sickness,
and Judah his sores,
then Ephraim turned to Assyria,(AG)
and sent to the great king for help.(AH)
But he is not able to cure(AI) you,
not able to heal your sores.(AJ)
14 For I will be like a lion(AK) to Ephraim,
like a great lion to Judah.
I will tear them to pieces(AL) and go away;
I will carry them off, with no one to rescue them.(AM)
15 Then I will return to my lair(AN)
until they have borne their guilt(AO)
and seek my face(AP)—
in their misery(AQ)
they will earnestly seek me.(AR)”
