Controversia de Dios con Israel
4 Escuchen la palabra del Señor, israelitas(A),
Porque el Señor tiene querella contra los habitantes de la tierra(B),
Pues no hay fidelidad(C), ni misericordia[a],
Ni conocimiento de Dios en la tierra(D).
2 Solo hay falso juramento(E), mentira(F), asesinato(G), robo(H) y adulterio(I).
Emplean la violencia, y homicidios tras homicidios se suceden(J).
3 Por eso la tierra está de luto,
Y desfallece todo morador en ella
Junto con las bestias del campo y las aves del cielo;
Aun los peces del mar desaparecen(K).
4 ¶Pero que nadie contienda ni nadie reprenda(L);
Porque tu pueblo es como los que contienden con el sacerdote(M).
5 Tropezarás de día(N),
Y también el profeta tropezará contigo de noche,
Y destruiré a tu madre(O).
6 Mi pueblo es destruido por falta de conocimiento(P).
Por cuanto tú has rechazado el conocimiento(Q),
Yo también te rechazaré para que no seas Mi sacerdote(R).
Como has olvidado la ley de tu Dios(S),
Yo también me olvidaré de tus hijos.
7 ¶Cuanto más se multiplicaron, más pecaron contra Mí(T);
Cambiaré, pues, su gloria en afrenta(U).
8 Del pecado de Mi pueblo se alimentan(V),
Y hacia su iniquidad dirigen sus deseos(W).
9 Como el pueblo, así será el sacerdote(X);
Los castigaré por su proceder[b](Y),
Y les pagaré según sus obras.
10 Comerán, pero no se saciarán(Z);
Se prostituirán(AA), pero no se multiplicarán,
Porque han dejado de hacer caso al Señor(AB).
11 ¶La prostitución, el vino y el vino nuevo quitan el juicio(AC).
12 Mi pueblo consulta a su ídolo de madera(AD), y su vara les informa;
Porque un espíritu de prostitución los ha descarriado,
Y se han prostituido, apartándose de su Dios.
13 Ofrecen sacrificios sobre las cumbres de los montes(AE)
Y queman incienso sobre las colinas(AF),
Debajo de las encinas, los álamos y los terebintos(AG),
Porque su sombra es agradable.
Por tanto, sus hijas se prostituyen,
Y sus nueras cometen adulterio.
14 No castigaré a sus hijas cuando se prostituyan
Ni a sus nueras cuando cometan adulterio,
Porque los hombres mismos se retiran con rameras
Y ofrecen sacrificios con las rameras(AH) del culto pagano;
Así se pierde el pueblo sin entendimiento.
15 ¶Aunque tú, Israel, te prostituyas,
Que no se haga culpable Judá;
Tampoco vayan a Gilgal(AI),
Ni suban a Bet Avén,
Ni juren:
«¡Vive el Señor(AJ)!».
16 Ya que Israel es terco(AK)
Como una novilla indómita,
¿Los pastoreará ahora el Señor
Como a un cordero en campo espacioso(AL)?
17 Efraín se ha unido a los ídolos(AM);
Déjalo(AN).
18 Acabada su bebida,
Se entregaron a la prostitución;
Sus príncipes aman mucho la ignominia(AO).
19 El viento los envuelve en sus alas,
Y se avergonzarán de sus sacrificios(AP).

4 Народ Исроила, слушайте слово Вечного,
потому что у Вечного тяжба с вами,
жители этой земли:
– В этой стране нет ни верности, ни любви,
ни познания Всевышнего.
2 Есть лишь проклятие, ложь и убийство,
воровство и разврат.
Они переходят все границы,
кровопролитие следует за кровопролитием.
3 Поэтому земля высыхает,
и все, кто живёт в ней, изнемогают.
Гибнут дикие звери, птицы небесные
и рыбы морские.
4 Но пусть никто не судится,
пусть один не обвиняет другого;
Я вас обвиняю, священнослужители![a]
5 Вы спотыкаетесь днём и ночью,
и пророки спотыкаются вместе с вами.
Итак, Я истреблю вашу мать[b] –
6 Мой народ будет истреблён из-за недостатка знания.
Как вы отвергли знание,
так и Я отвергну вас, Мои священнослужители.
Как вы забыли Закон вашего Бога,
так и Я забуду ваших детей.
7 Чем больше становилось священнослужителей,
тем больше они грешили против Меня.
Я поменяю их славу[c] на нечто постыдное.
8 Они питаются жертвами за грехи Моего народа,
потому и желают их беззаконий.[d]
9 Что будет с народом, то и со священнослужителями.
Я накажу их за грехи их
и воздам им по делам их.
10 Они будут есть, но не насытятся,
будут блудить, но останутся бездетными,
потому что они оставили Вечного
и предали себя
11 разврату,
вину старому и молодому,
которые отнимают понимание
12 у Моего народа.
Они просят совета у деревяшки,
и палка даёт им ответ.
Они сбились с пути, следуя за ложными богами,
и, развратившись, отдалились от своего Бога.
13 Они приносят жертвы на вершинах гор
и сжигают приношения на холмах,
под дубом, тополем и теревинфом[e],
потому что их тень приятна.
Поэтому ваши дочери блудят,
а ваши невестки нарушают супружескую верность.
14 Я не накажу ваших дочерей,
когда они будут блудить,
и не накажу ваших невесток,
когда они будут нарушать супружескую верность,
потому что мужчины сами уединяются с блудницами
и приносят жертвы с блудницами храмовыми[f].
Невежественный народ погибнет!
15 Хотя ты и блудишь, Исроил,
пусть хоть Иудея не грешит.
Не ходите в Гилгал,
не поднимайтесь в Бет-Авен («дом зла»)[g].
Не клянитесь там: «Верно, как и то, что жив Вечный!»
16 Исроильтяне упираются,
как упрямая телица.
Как же тогда Вечный сможет пасти их,
словно овец на просторном пастбище?
17 Ефраим[h] привязался к идолам –
оставь его!
18 Даже когда у них кончается вино,
они продолжают блудить.
Их правители любят постыдные пути.
19 Сильный ветер сметёт их,
и им будет стыдно за свои жертвы.

Hosea 4
King James Version
4 Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land.
2 By swearing, and lying, and killing, and stealing, and committing adultery, they break out, and blood toucheth blood.
3 Therefore shall the land mourn, and every one that dwelleth therein shall languish, with the beasts of the field, and with the fowls of heaven; yea, the fishes of the sea also shall be taken away.
4 Yet let no man strive, nor reprove another: for thy people are as they that strive with the priest.
5 Therefore shalt thou fall in the day, and the prophet also shall fall with thee in the night, and I will destroy thy mother.
6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
7 As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame.
8 They eat up the sin of my people, and they set their heart on their iniquity.
9 And there shall be, like people, like priest: and I will punish them for their ways, and reward them their doings.
10 For they shall eat, and not have enough: they shall commit whoredom, and shall not increase: because they have left off to take heed to the Lord.
11 Whoredom and wine and new wine take away the heart.
12 My people ask counsel at their stocks, and their staff declareth unto them: for the spirit of whoredoms hath caused them to err, and they have gone a whoring from under their God.
13 They sacrifice upon the tops of the mountains, and burn incense upon the hills, under oaks and poplars and elms, because the shadow thereof is good: therefore your daughters shall commit whoredom, and your spouses shall commit adultery.
14 I will not punish your daughters when they commit whoredom, nor your spouses when they commit adultery: for themselves are separated with whores, and they sacrifice with harlots: therefore the people that doth not understand shall fall.
15 Though thou, Israel, play the harlot, yet let not Judah offend; and come not ye unto Gilgal, neither go ye up to Bethaven, nor swear, The Lord liveth.
16 For Israel slideth back as a backsliding heifer: now the Lord will feed them as a lamb in a large place.
17 Ephraim is joined to idols: let him alone.
18 Their drink is sour: they have committed whoredom continually: her rulers with shame do love, Give ye.
19 The wind hath bound her up in her wings, and they shall be ashamed because of their sacrifices.
