Hosea 14

Israel Restored at Last
14 O Israel, (A)return to the Lord your God,
For you have stumbled because of your iniquity;
2 Take words with you,
And return to the Lord.
Say to Him,
“Take away all iniquity;
Receive us graciously,
For we will offer the (B)sacrifices[a] of our lips.
3 Assyria shall (C)not save us,
(D)We will not ride on horses,
Nor will we say anymore to the work of our hands, ‘You are our gods.’
(E)For in You the fatherless finds mercy.”
4 “I will heal their (F)backsliding,
I will (G)love them freely,
For My anger has turned away from him.
5 I will be like the (H)dew to Israel;
He shall [b]grow like the lily,
And [c]lengthen his roots like Lebanon.
6 His branches shall [d]spread;
(I)His beauty shall be like an olive tree,
And (J)his fragrance like Lebanon.
7 (K)Those who dwell under his shadow shall return;
They shall be revived like grain,
And [e]grow like a vine.
Their [f]scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
8 “Ephraim shall say, ‘What have I to do anymore with idols?’
I have heard and observed him.
I am like a green cypress tree;
(L)Your fruit is found in Me.”
9 Who is wise?
Let him understand these things.
Who is prudent?
Let him know them.
For (M)the ways of the Lord are right;
The righteous walk in them,
But transgressors stumble in them.

14 O Israel, return to the Lord your God, for you have stumbled and fallen, [visited by calamity] due to your iniquity.
2 Take with you words and return to the Lord. Say to Him, Take away all our iniquity; accept what is good and receive us graciously; so will we render [our thanks] as bullocks [to be sacrificed] and pay the confession of our lips.(A)
3 Assyria shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses, neither will we say any more to the work of our hands [idols], You are our gods. For in You [O Lord] the fatherless find love, pity, and mercy.
4 I will heal their faithlessness; I will love them freely, for My anger is turned away from [Israel].
5 I will be like the dew and the night mist to Israel; he shall grow and blossom like the lily and cast forth his roots like [the sturdy evergreens of] Lebanon.
6 His suckers and shoots shall spread, and his beauty shall be like the olive tree and his fragrance like [the cedars and aromatic shrubs of] Lebanon.
7 They that dwell under his shade shall return; they shall revive like the grain and blossom like the vine; the scent of it shall be like the wine of Lebanon.
8 Ephraim shall say, What have I to do any more with idols? I have answered [him] and will regard and watch over him; I am like a green fir or cypress tree; with Me is the fruit found [which is to nourish you].
9 Who is wise, that he may understand these things? Prudent, that he may know them? For the ways of the Lord are right and the [uncompromisingly] just shall walk in them, but transgressors shall stumble and fall in them.(B)

14 Israel, retorne para o SENHOR, seu Deus.
Seu pecado fez você cair.
2 Pensem bem em como pedirão desculpa ao SENHOR.
Digam a ele:
“Perdoe todos os nossos pecados
e não se esqueça do bem que temos feito.
Se você fizer isso, nós ofereceremos
palavras de louvor e agradecimento.
3 A Assíria não nos salvará.
Não montaremos nos nossos cavalos
para ir buscar ajuda na Assíria.
Não voltaremos a dizer àquilo que as nossas mãos fizeram:
‘Você é o nosso deus’,
porque é o Senhor
quem sente compaixão pelo órfão”.
4 “Eu os perdoarei por terem me abandonado;
eu lhes presentearei com o meu amor.
Minha fúria contra eles sumiu.
5 Serei para Israel como o orvalho.
Ele florescerá como um lírio.
Crescerá como os cedros do Líbano.
6 Suas raízes se estenderão por todos os lados para obter alimento
e retornará tão bela como uma oliveira.
Terá o aroma das florestas do Líbano.
7 As pessoas que viviam debaixo da sua sombra retornarão
e crescerão como o grão.
Darão fruto como a parreira.

Conselho final
9 Quem é sábio entenderá estas coisas.
Quem tem capacidade para entender aprenderá isto:
os caminhos do SENHOR são certos;
os justos seguirão neles,
mas os perversos tropeçarão neles.
