4 En ik zag tronen. Daar gingen mensen op zitten die als rechters over de wereld moesten rechtspreken. Ik zag ook de zielen van de mensen die waren onthoofd omdat ze in Jezus en in Gods Woord geloofden. Zij hadden niet het beest en het beeld van het beest aanbeden. Ze hadden het merkteken van het beest niet op hun voorhoofd of op hun hand willen hebben. Zij waren weer levend geworden en heersten 1000 jaar lang als koningen, samen met Christus.
