¹³ She gave this name to the Lord who spoke to her: “You are the God who sees me,^(A)” for she said, “I have now seen^[a] the One who sees me.”^(B)

¹¹ But God did not raise his hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw^(A) God, and they ate and drank.^(B)

²² When Gideon realized^(A) that it was the angel of the Lord, he exclaimed, “Alas, Sovereign Lord! I have seen the angel of the Lord face to face!”^(B)

²² “We are doomed^(A) to die!” he said to his wife. “We have seen^(B) God!”
