Aşezarea candelelor
8 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise şi a zis: 2 „Vorbeşte lui Aaron şi spune-i: ‘Când vei aşeza(A) candelele în sfeşnic, cele şapte candele vor trebui să lumineze în partea dinainte a sfeşnicului.’ ” 3 Aaron a făcut aşa; a aşezat candelele în partea dinainte a sfeşnicului, cum poruncise lui Moise Domnul. 4 Sfeşnicul(B) era de aur bătut; atât piciorul, cât şi florile lui erau de aur(C) bătut. Moise făcuse sfeşnicul după(D) chipul pe care i-l arătase Domnul.

5 Domnul a vorbit lui Moise şi a zis: 6 „Ia pe leviţi din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel şi curăţeşte-i. 7 Iată cum să-i curăţeşti: Stropeşte-i(E) cu apă ispăşitoare, să lase(F) să treacă briciul peste tot trupul lor, să-şi spele hainele şi să se curăţească. 8 Să ia apoi un viţel, cu darul(G) de mâncare obişnuit, făcut din floare de făină, frământată cu untdelemn, şi să mai iei un alt viţel pentru jertfa de ispăşire. 9 Să apropii(H) pe leviţi înaintea cortului întâlnirii şi să strângi(I) toată adunarea copiilor lui Israel. 10 Să apropii pe leviţi înaintea Domnului, şi copiii lui Israel să-şi pună(J) mâinile pe leviţi. 11 Aaron să legene pe leviţi într-o parte şi într-alta înaintea Domnului, ca un dar legănat din partea copiilor lui Israel, şi să fie închinaţi astfel în slujba Domnului. 12 Leviţii(K) să-şi pună mâinile pe capul viţeilor şi să aduci unul ca jertfă de ispăşire şi altul ca ardere-de-tot, ca să faci ispăşire pentru leviţi. 13 Să pui pe leviţi în picioare înaintea lui Aaron şi înaintea fiilor lui şi să-i legeni într-o parte şi într-alta, ca un dar legănat Domnului. 14 Aşa să desparţi pe leviţi din mijlocul copiilor lui Israel, şi leviţii vor fi ai(L) Mei. 15 După aceea, leviţii să vină să facă slujba în cortul întâlnirii. 5 Domnul i-a zis lui Moise: 6 „Ia-i pe leviţi din mijlocul israeliţilor şi curăţeşte-i. 7 Iată ce trebuie să faci ca să fie curaţi: tu să-i stropeşti cu apa ispăşirii, iar ei să-şi radă tot trupul cu briciul şi să-şi spele hainele; aşa se vor curăţi. 8 Apoi să ia un taur şi darul de mâncare făcut din făină aleasă amestecată cu ulei, iar tu să iei un alt taur ca jertfă pentru păcat. 9 Să-i aduci pe leviţi înaintea Cortului Întâlnirii şi să convoci toată adunarea israeliţilor. 10 Când îi vei aduce pe leviţi înaintea Domnului, israeliţii vor trebui să-şi pună mâinile peste ei; 11 apoi Aaron îi va înfăţişa pe leviţi înaintea Domnului ca o jertfă legănată din partea israeliţilor, şi astfel ei vor putea să slujească Domnului. 12 Leviţii să-şi pună mâinile pe capetele taurilor, după care el să-i jertfească în cinstea Domnului, pe unul ca jertfă pentru păcat, iar pe celălalt ca ardere de tot şi să facă astfel ispăşire pentru leviţi. 13 Apoi să-i pui pe leviţi să stea înaintea lui Aaron şi a fiilor săi şi să-i aduci ca jertfă legănată înaintea Domnului.
14 Aşa să-i separi pe leviţi de ceilalţi israeliţi şi leviţii vor fi ai Mei. 15 După ce i-ai curăţit şi i-ai adus ca jertfă legănată, leviţii vor putea intra în Cortul Întâlnirii ca să slujească. 16 Căci ei Îmi sunt daţi pe deplin din mijlocul israeliţilor; i-am luat pentru Mine în locul tuturor celor ce sunt primul rod al pântecelui, în locul întâilor născuţi ai israeliţilor. 17 Toţi întâii născuţi ai israeliţilor sunt ai Mei, atât dintre oameni, cât şi dintre animale. Mie Mi i-am închinat în ziua în care i-am lovit pe toţi întâii născuţi din ţara Egiptului. 18 De aceea i-am luat pe leviţi în locul tuturor întâilor născuţi ai israeliţilor. 19 Eu i-am dat în dar pe leviţi lui Aaron şi fiilor săi, ca să le slujească israeliţilor în Cortul Întâlnirii şi să facă ispăşire pentru israeliţi; astfel, israeliţii nu vor fi loviţi de nici o urgie când se vor apropia de Lăcaş.“
20 Moise, Aaron şi întreaga adunare a israeliţilor au făcut întocmai cu leviţii; israeliţii au făcut aşa cum Domnul i-a poruncit lui Moise cu privire la ei. 21 Leviţii s-au curăţit şi şi-au spălat hainele; apoi Aaron i-a adus ca jertfă legănată înaintea Domnului şi a făcut ispăşire pentru ei ca să-i curăţească. 22 După aceea, leviţii au intrat să slujească în Cortul Întâlnirii înaintea lui Aaron şi a fiilor săi. Setting Up the Lamps
8 The Lord said to Moses, 2 “Speak to Aaron and say to him, ‘When you set up the lamps, see that all seven light up the area in front of the lampstand.(A)’”
3 Aaron did so; he set up the lamps so that they faced forward on the lampstand, just as the Lord commanded Moses. 4 This is how the lampstand was made: It was made of hammered gold(B)—from its base to its blossoms. The lampstand was made exactly like the pattern(C) the Lord had shown Moses.
The Setting Apart of the Levites
5 The Lord said to Moses: 6 “Take the Levites from among all the Israelites and make them ceremonially clean.(D) 7 To purify them, do this: Sprinkle the water of cleansing(E) on them; then have them shave their whole bodies(F) and wash their clothes.(G) And so they will purify themselves.(H) 8 Have them take a young bull with its grain offering of the finest flour mixed with olive oil;(I) then you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering.[a](J) 9 Bring the Levites to the front of the tent of meeting(K) and assemble the whole Israelite community.(L) 10 You are to bring the Levites before the Lord, and the Israelites are to lay their hands on them.(M) 11 Aaron is to present the Levites before the Lord as a wave offering(N) from the Israelites, so that they may be ready to do the work of the Lord.
12 “Then the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls,(O) using one for a sin offering(P) to the Lord and the other for a burnt offering,(Q) to make atonement(R) for the Levites. 13 Have the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons and then present them as a wave offering(S) to the Lord. 14 In this way you are to set the Levites apart from the other Israelites, and the Levites will be mine.(T)
15 “After you have purified the Levites and presented them as a wave offering,(U) they are to come to do their work at the tent of meeting.(V) 16 They are the Israelites who are to be given wholly to me. I have taken them as my own in place of the firstborn,(W) the first male offspring(X) from every Israelite woman. 17 Every firstborn male in Israel, whether human or animal,(Y) is mine. When I struck down all the firstborn in Egypt, I set them apart for myself.(Z) 18 And I have taken the Levites in place of all the firstborn sons in Israel.(AA) 19 From among all the Israelites, I have given the Levites as gifts to Aaron and his sons(AB) to do the work at the tent of meeting on behalf of the Israelites(AC) and to make atonement for them(AD) so that no plague will strike the Israelites when they go near the sanctuary.”
20 Moses, Aaron and the whole Israelite community did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses. 21 The Levites purified themselves and washed their clothes.(AE) Then Aaron presented them as a wave offering before the Lord and made atonement(AF) for them to purify them.(AG) 22 After that, the Levites came to do their work(AH) at the tent of meeting under the supervision of Aaron and his sons. They did with the Levites just as the Lord commanded Moses.
23 The Lord said to Moses, 24 “This applies to the Levites: Men twenty-five years old or more(AI) shall come to take part in the work at the tent of meeting,(AJ) 25 but at the age of fifty,(AK) they must retire from their regular service and work no longer. 26 They may assist their brothers in performing their duties at the tent of meeting, but they themselves must not do the work.(AL) This, then, is how you are to assign the responsibilities of the Levites.”

9 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
10 And thou shalt bring the Levites before the Lord: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
11 And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the Lord for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the Lord.
12 And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the Lord, to make an atonement for the Levites.
13 And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the Lord.
14 Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.

26 But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.

Arrangement of the Lamps(A)

(F)According to the pattern which the Lord had shown Moses, so he made the lampstand.
Cleansing and Dedication of the Levites

23 Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, 24 “This is what pertains to the Levites: (Z)From twenty-five years old and above one may enter to perform service in the work of the tabernacle of meeting; 25 and at the age of fifty years they must cease performing this work, and shall work no more. 26 They may minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of meeting, (AA)to attend to needs, but they themselves shall do no work. Thus you shall do to the Levites regarding their duties.”
