De Dag van Vergeving
29 De Heer zei tegen Mozes: "Op de eerste dag van de zevende maand moeten jullie een heilige bijeenkomst houden. Die moeten jullie aankondigen door op de trompet te blazen. Op die dag mag niemand werken. 2 Jullie moeten een brand-offer offeren van één jonge stier, één mannetjes-schaap en zeven vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 3 Geef ook het meel-offer dat daarbij hoort: fijn meel, gemengd met olijf-olie. Bij de stier 3/10 efa (6,6 liter), bij het mannetjes-schaap 2/10 efa (4,4 liter) 4 en bij elk van de zeven vrouwtjes-schapen 1/10 efa (2,2 liter). 5 Verder een mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer om vergeving te krijgen. 6 Het zijn extra offers bij het maandelijkse brand-offer en het dagelijkse brand-offer, met de meel-offers en wijn-offers die daarbij horen. Als jullie het zó doen, ben Ik er blij mee.
7 Op de tiende dag van de zevende maand moeten jullie een heilige bijeenkomst houden.[a] Die dag moeten jullie spijt hebben van de verkeerde dingen die jullie gedaan hebben. Niemand mag op die dag werken. 8 Die dag moeten jullie Mij een brand-offer brengen van één jonge stier, één mannetjes-schaap en zeven vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 9 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer offeren dat daarbij hoort: fijn meel dat is gemengd met olijf-olie. Bij de stier 3/10 efa (6,6 liter), bij het mannetjes-schaap 2/10 efa (4,4 liter), 10 en bij elk van de zeven vrouwtjes-schapen 1/10 efa (2,2 liter). 11 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij het vergevings-offer waarmee jullie om vergeving vragen en het dagelijkse brand-offer, met de meel-offers en wijn-offers die daarbij horen."
Het Loofhuttenfeest
12 De Heer zei tegen Mozes: "Op de 15e dag van de zevende maand moeten jullie een heilige bijeenkomst houden.[b] Niemand mag op die dag werken. Dan moeten jullie zeven dagen voor Mij feest vieren. 13 Jullie moeten een brand-offer offeren van 13 jonge stieren, twee mannetjes-schapen en 14 vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 14 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer brengen dat daarbij hoort: fijn meel dat is gemengd met olijf-olie. Bij elke stier 3/10 efa (6,6 liter), bij elk mannetjes-schaap 2/10 efa (4,4 liter) 15 en bij elk vrouwtjes-schaap 1/10 efa (2,2 liter). 16 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 18 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer en het wijn-offer brengen die daarbij horen: net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 19 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij de dagelijkse brand-offers, met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen.
20 Op de derde dag elf jonge stieren, twee mannetjes-schapen en 14 vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 21 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer en het wijn-offer brengen die daarbij horen: net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 22 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij de dagelijkse brand-offers, met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen.
23 Op de vierde dag tien jonge stieren, twee mannetjes-schapen en 14 vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 24 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer en het wijn-offer brengen die daarbij horen: net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 25 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij de dagelijkse brand-offers, met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen.
26 Op de vijfde dag negen jonge stieren, twee mannetjes-schapen en 14 vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 27 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer en het wijn-offer brengen die daarbij horen: net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 28 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij de dagelijkse brand-offers, met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen.
29 Op de zesde dag acht jonge stieren, twee mannetjes-schapen en 14 vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 30 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer en het wijn-offer brengen die daarbij horen: net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 31 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. 32 Op de zevende dag zeven jonge stieren, twee mannetjes-schapen en 14 vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. Alle dieren moeten helemaal gezond zijn. 33 Ook moeten jullie het meel-offer en het wijn-offer brengen die daarbij horen: net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 34 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij de dagelijkse brand-offers, met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen.
35 Op de achtste dag moeten jullie een feestelijke bijeenkomst houden. Op die dag mag niemand werken. 36 Dan moeten jullie een brand-offer brengen van één jonge stier, één mannetjes-schaap en zeven gezonde vrouwtjes-schapen van één jaar. 37 Ook het meel-offer dat daarbij hoort en de wijn-offers die bij de stier, het mannetjes-schaap en de vrouwtjes-schapen horen. Net zoveel meel-offers en wijn-offers als dat er dieren zijn, zoals voorgeschreven is. 38 Verder één mannetjes-geit als vergevings-offer. Het zijn extra offers bij de dagelijkse brand-offers, met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen.
39 Dit zijn de brand-offers, meel-offers, wijn-offers en dank-offers die jullie op de feestdagen aan Mij moeten offeren. Het zijn extra offers bij de belofte-offers en vrijwillige offers met het meel-offer en wijn-offer die daarbij horen."
40 En Mozes zei alles tegen de Israëlieten wat de Heer hem bevolen had.

- Numeri 29:12 Dit is het Loofhuttenfeest, dat zeven dagen duurt. Voor het Loofhuttenfeest werden hutten gebouwd van takken met bladeren: loof. De Israëlieten vierden dit feest om te denken aan de tocht van het volk Israël door de woestijn, toen de mensen in tenten woonden. Het was één van de drie grote feesten voor de Heer. Het werd gevierd op de 15e dag van de zevende maand, aan het eind van de oogsttijd. Lees Leviticus 23:33-36.

2 And ye shall offer a burnt offering for a sweet savour unto the Lord; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year without blemish:
3 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals for a bullock, and two tenth deals for a ram,
4 And one tenth deal for one lamb, throughout the seven lambs:
5 And one kid of the goats for a sin offering, to make an atonement for you:
6 Beside the burnt offering of the month, and his meat offering, and the daily burnt offering, and his meat offering, and their drink offerings, according unto their manner, for a sweet savour, a sacrifice made by fire unto the Lord.
7 And ye shall have on the tenth day of this seventh month an holy convocation; and ye shall afflict your souls: ye shall not do any work therein:
8 But ye shall offer a burnt offering unto the Lord for a sweet savour; one young bullock, one ram, and seven lambs of the first year; they shall be unto you without blemish:
9 And their meat offering shall be of flour mingled with oil, three tenth deals to a bullock, and two tenth deals to one ram,
