Mormorii di Miriam e di Aaronne. Miriam colpita da lebbra
12 (A)Miriam e Aaronne parlarono contro Mosè a causa della moglie cusita che aveva presa; poiché aveva sposato una Cusita. 2 E dissero: «Il Signore ha parlato soltanto per mezzo di Mosè? Non ha parlato anche per mezzo nostro?» E il Signore lo udì. 3 Or Mosè era un uomo molto umile, più di ogni altro uomo sulla faccia della terra.
4 Il Signore disse a un tratto a Mosè, ad Aaronne e a Miriam: «Uscite voi tre, e andate alla tenda di convegno». Uscirono tutti e tre. 5 Il Signore scese in una colonna di nuvola, si fermò all’ingresso della tenda, chiamò Aaronne e Miriam; tutti e due si fecero avanti. 6 Il Signore disse: «Ascoltate ora le mie parole; se vi è tra di voi qualche profeta, io, il Signore, mi faccio conoscere a lui in visione, parlo con lui in sogno. 7 Non così con il mio servo Mosè, che è fedele in tutta la mia casa[a]. 8 Con lui io parlo a tu per tu, con chiarezza, e non per via di enigmi; egli vede la sembianza del Signore. Perché dunque non avete temuto di parlare contro il mio servo, contro Mosè?»
9 L’ira del Signore si accese contro di loro, ed egli se ne andò, 10 e la nuvola si ritirò di sopra alla tenda; ed ecco Miriam era lebbrosa, bianca come neve; Aaronne guardò Miriam e vide che era lebbrosa. 11 Aaronne disse a Mosè: «Ti prego, mio signore, non farci portare la pena di un peccato che abbiamo stoltamente commesso e di cui siamo colpevoli. 12 Ti prego, che lei non sia come il bimbo nato morto, la cui carne è già mezzo consumata quando esce dal seno materno!» 13 Mosè gridò al Signore, dicendo: «Guariscila, o Dio, te ne prego!» 14 Il Signore rispose a Mosè: «Se suo padre le avesse sputato in viso, non ne porterebbe la vergogna per sette giorni? Stia dunque isolata fuori dell’accampamento sette giorni; poi vi sarà di nuovo ammessa». 15 Miriam dunque fu isolata fuori dell’accampamento sette giorni; e il popolo non si mise in cammino finché Miriam non fu riammessa nell’accampamento.
16 Poi il popolo partì da Aserot e si accampò nel deserto di Paran.

12 And Miriam and Aaron spake against Moses because of the Ethiopian woman whom he had married: for he had married an Ethiopian woman.
2 And they said, Hath the Lord indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the Lord heard it.
3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.)
4 And the Lord spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out.
5 And the Lord came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth.
6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the Lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.
7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house.
8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the Lord shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?
9 And the anger of the Lord was kindled against them; and he departed.
10 And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.
11 And Aaron said unto Moses, Alas, my lord, I beseech thee, lay not the sin upon us, wherein we have done foolishly, and wherein we have sinned.
12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he cometh out of his mother's womb.
13 And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, Heal her now, O God, I beseech thee.
14 And the Lord said unto Moses, If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be ashamed seven days? let her be shut out from the camp seven days, and after that let her be received in again.
15 And Miriam was shut out from the camp seven days: and the people journeyed not till Miriam was brought in again.
16 And afterward the people removed from Hazeroth, and pitched in the wilderness of Paran.

Mirjam und Aaron lehnen sich gegen Mose auf
12 Mirjam und Aaron machten Mose Vorwürfe, weil er eine Äthiopierin[a] geheiratet hatte. 2-3 Sie sagten auch: »Spricht der Herr etwa nur durch Mose? Hat er nicht auch durch uns geredet?«
Mose schwieg dazu. Er war ein zurückhaltender Mann, demütiger als alle anderen Menschen auf der Welt. Aber der Herr hatte gehört, was Aaron und Mirjam gesagt hatten. 4 Auf der Stelle befahl er den beiden und Mose: »Geht zum heiligen Zelt!« Die drei gehorchten.
5 Der Herr kam in der Wolkensäule herab und stellte sich an den Eingang des Zeltes. Er rief Aaron und Mirjam, und sie traten vor. 6 Dann wies er sie zurecht: »Hört, was ich euch sage! Wenn ich einem Propheten unter euch etwas mitteilen will, erscheine ich ihm in einer Vision oder spreche im Traum zu ihm. 7 Mit Mose aber rede ich anders. Denn er ist mein treuer Diener, ihm habe ich mein Volk anvertraut. 8 Ich rede mit ihm von Angesicht zu Angesicht, nicht in geheimnisvollen Bildern, sondern in klaren Worten. Er darf mich sogar sehen. Wie könnt ihr es da wagen, ihn anzugreifen?«
9 Nach diesen Worten entfernte sich der Herr voller Zorn, 10 und die Wolke verschwand vom heiligen Zelt. Als Aaron sich zu Mirjam umdrehte, war ihre Haut weiß wie Schnee, denn sie war aussätzig geworden! 11 Aaron flehte Mose an: »Bitte, vergib uns! Wir haben unrecht gehandelt und Schuld auf uns geladen. 12 Aber lass Mirjam nicht wie eine Totgeburt aussehen, die halb verwest aus dem Mutterleib kommt!«
13 Da rief Mose zum Herrn: »O Gott, mach sie bitte wieder gesund!« 14 Der Herr antwortete ihm: »Wenn ihr Vater ihr verächtlich ins Gesicht gespuckt hätte, würde sie sich da nicht eine Woche lang schämen? Deshalb soll sie sieben Tage außerhalb des Lagers festgehalten werden. Danach könnt ihr sie wieder bei euch aufnehmen.«
15 So musste Mirjam eine Woche außerhalb des Lagers bleiben. In dieser Zeit zog das Volk nicht weiter. Erst als sie wieder zurückgekehrt war, 16 brachen die Israeliten von Hazerot auf und lagerten dann in der Wüste Paran.

Miriam and Aaron Oppose Moses
12 Miriam(A) and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife,(B) for he had married a Cushite. 2 “Has the Lord spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?”(C) And the Lord heard this.(D)
3 (Now Moses was a very humble man,(E) more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.)
4 At once the Lord said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the tent of meeting, all three of you.” So the three of them went out. 5 Then the Lord came down in a pillar of cloud;(F) he stood at the entrance to the tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When the two of them stepped forward, 6 he said, “Listen to my words:
“When there is a prophet among you,
I, the Lord, reveal(G) myself to them in visions,(H)
I speak to them in dreams.(I)
7 But this is not true of my servant Moses;(J)
he is faithful in all my house.(K)
8 With him I speak face to face,
clearly and not in riddles;(L)
he sees the form of the Lord.(M)
Why then were you not afraid
to speak against my servant Moses?”(N)
9 The anger of the Lord burned against them,(O) and he left them.(P)
10 When the cloud lifted from above the tent,(Q) Miriam’s skin was leprous[a]—it became as white as snow.(R) Aaron turned toward her and saw that she had a defiling skin disease,(S) 11 and he said to Moses, “Please, my lord, I ask you not to hold against us the sin we have so foolishly committed.(T) 12 Do not let her be like a stillborn infant coming from its mother’s womb with its flesh half eaten away.”
13 So Moses cried out to the Lord, “Please, God, heal her!(U)”
14 The Lord replied to Moses, “If her father had spit in her face,(V) would she not have been in disgrace for seven days? Confine her outside the camp(W) for seven days; after that she can be brought back.” 15 So Miriam was confined outside the camp(X) for seven days,(Y) and the people did not move on till she was brought back.
16 After that, the people left Hazeroth(Z) and encamped in the Desert of Paran.(AA)
