The Cloud on the Tabernacle

15 Now on (A)the day that the tabernacle was erected, (B)the cloud covered the tabernacle, the (C)tent of the testimony, and (D)in the evening it was like the appearance of fire over the tabernacle until morning. 16 That is how it was continuously; (E)the cloud would cover it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. 17 (F)Whenever the cloud was lifted from over the tent, afterward the sons of Israel would set out; and in the place where the cloud settled down, there the sons of Israel would camp. 18 At the [a]command of the Lord the sons of Israel would set out, and at the [b]command of the Lord they would camp; (G)as long as the cloud settled over the tabernacle, they remained camped. 19 Even when the cloud lingered over the tabernacle for many days, [c]the sons of Israel would comply with the Lords ordinance and not set out. 20 If [d]sometimes the cloud remained a few days over the tabernacle, (H)in accordance with the [e]command of the Lord they remained camped. Then in accordance with the [f]command of the Lord they set out. 21 If [g]sometimes the cloud [h]remained from evening until morning, when the cloud was lifted in the morning they would set out; or if it remained in the daytime and at night, whenever the cloud was lifted, they would set out. 22 Whether it was two days, a month, or a year that the cloud lingered over the tabernacle, staying above it, the sons of Israel remained camped and did not set out; but (I)when it was lifted, they did set out. 23 (J)At the [i]command of the Lord they camped, and at the [j]command of the Lord they set out; they did what the Lord required, in accordance with the [k]command of the Lord through Moses.

The Silver Trumpets

10 The Lord spoke further to Moses, saying, “Make yourself two trumpets of silver, you shall make them of hammered work; and you shall use them for (K)summoning the congregation and breaking camp. Now (L)when both are blown, all the congregation shall meet you at the entrance of the tent of meeting. But if only one is blown, then the (M)leaders, the heads of the [l]divisions of Israel, shall meet you. And when you blow an alarm, the camps that are pitched (N)on the east side shall set out. Then when you sound an alarm the second time, the camps that are pitched on (O)the south side shall set out; an alarm is to be sounded for them to break camp. When convening the assembly, however, you shall blow the trumpets without (P)sounding an alarm. (Q)The sons of Aaron, moreover, the priests, shall blow the trumpets; and this shall be a permanent statute for you throughout your generations. And when you go to war in your land against the enemy who (R)attacks you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, so that you will be (S)thought of by the Lord your God, and be saved from your enemies. 10 Also on the day of your joy and at your appointed [m]feasts, and on the first days of your months, (T)you shall blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings, and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they shall be as a reminder of you before your God. I am the Lord your God.”
