^3 (A)he shall separate himself from wine and similar drink; he shall drink neither vinegar made from wine nor vinegar made from similar drink; neither shall he drink any grape juice, nor eat fresh grapes or raisins.

³³ For ^(A)John the Baptist came ^(B)neither eating bread nor drinking wine, and you say, ‘He has a demon.’ ³⁴ The Son of Man has come ^(C)eating and drinking, and you say, ‘Look, a glutton and a ^[a]winebibber, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’

¹⁵ For he will be ^(A)great in the sight of the Lord, and ^(B)shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Holy Spirit, ^(C)even from his mother’s womb.

⁴⁸ Then the Jews answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan and ^(A)have a demon?”

⁴⁹ Jesus answered, “I do not have a demon; but I honor My Father, and ^(B)you dishonor Me. ⁵⁰ And ^(C)I do not seek My own glory; there is One who seeks and judges. ⁵¹ Most assuredly, I say to you, ^(D)if anyone keeps My word he shall never see death.”

⁵² Then the Jews said to Him, “Now we know that You ^(E)have a demon! ^(F)Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word he shall never taste death.’

⁷ “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? ^(A)Who can forgive sins but God alone?”

⁴ Now ^(A)John himself was clothed in camel’s hair, with a leather belt around his waist; and his food was ^(B)locusts and ^(C)wild honey.
