¹³ And the cities that you give shall be your ^(A)six cities of refuge.

Cities of Refuge

⁴¹ Then Moses ^(A)set apart three cities in the east beyond the Jordan, ⁴² that ^(B)the manslayer might flee there, anyone who kills his neighbour unintentionally, without being at enmity with him in time past; he may flee to one of these cities and save his life:

² “Say to the people of Israel, ^(A)‘Appoint the cities of refuge, of which I spoke to you through Moses,

⁷ So they set apart ^(A)Kedesh in Galilee in the hill country of Naphtali, and ^(B)Shechem in the hill country of Ephraim, and ^(C)Kiriath-arba (that is, Hebron) ^(D)in the hill country of Judah. ⁸ And beyond the Jordan east of Jericho, they appointed ^(E)Bezer in the wilderness on the tableland, from the tribe of Reuben, and ^(F)Ramoth in Gilead, from the tribe of Gad, and ^(G)Golan in Bashan, from the tribe of Manasseh.

³ So by command of the Lord the people of Israel gave to the Levites the following cities and pasture lands out of their inheritance.

¹³ And to the descendants of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron, ^(A)the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands, ^(B)Libnah with its pasture lands,

²¹ To them were given Shechem, ^(A)the city of refuge for the manslayer, with its pasture lands in the hill country of Ephraim, Gezer with its pasture lands,

^27 (A)And to the Gershonites, one of the clans of the Levites, were given out of the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan in Bashan with its pasture lands, ^(B)the city of refuge for the manslayer, and Beeshterah with its pasture lands—two cities;

³² and out of the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee with its pasture lands, ^(A)the city of refuge for the manslayer, Hammoth-dor with its pasture lands, and Kartan with its pasture lands—three cities.

³⁶ and out of the tribe of Reuben, ^(A)Bezer with its pasture lands, Jahaz with its pasture lands,
